DRUMSÖ-DRUMSÖ-DRUMSÖ6.10.2011 CCF Nimby This ferry maintains a scheduled traffic between Ferry Island and Ferry Island (Drumsö in Swedish, Lauttasaari in Finnish), being thus the dream steamer of every true Ferry Islander. It's sometimes hard to know, whether the island, located on the western outskirts of Helsinki, next to the border with Espoo, the neighboring town, would rather be the East End of Espoo or, even better, independent altogether. For a time I thought that the best part of Ferry Island was the bridge connecting her to Helsinki proper: passing the bridge you have an excellent view of both the open seascape and the mainland, and the bridge gives you a connection to the city. Be that as it may, I have to admit, the island has her merits: it is a tram-free zone, a rare phenomenon in Helsinki these days. yhteysalus; pituus 29 cm; leveys 15 cm; korkeus 33 cm; paino 12 kg; valmistusvuosi 2011 coastal connection vessel; length 29 cm; width 15 cm; height 33 cm; weight 12 kg; year of completion 2011 |
