It was only thanks to popular discontent and strong protests from some of the well-known architectural figures that the project for a new hotel at the heart of the historical harbor area was finally rejected. To my mind, there were at least two good reasons not to accept the proposed new building: the plan was totally uninteresting and in total disagreement with the requirements of the location.
