Evoked by a documentary on Albert Cairo, an Italian orthopedist, working on location to repair the damage done to people by land mines, often to children having played on dangerous ground.  Also evoked by the breathtaking views on flights over the high terrain of the western reaches of the Himalayas, the contradiction between the beauty of the country and her troubles.
